How does he make such a cool header and pic of himself?

I would like to know how to do this.

I have Macromedia Fireworks and Dreamweaver, however, im a beginner. Some help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, does perezhilton.com use a blog template? Or is it all HTML or something else?


So you guys know, im not doing a blog or site like that, I just like his layout. Mine site will be sports.

perezhilton.com is basically a highly modified and skinned version of WordPress. http://www.wordpress.org

You can use Fireworks to make Web graphics but his banner was made with Photoshop. It's conceivable you could replicate that with Fireworks but it would be involved.

You can find a full tutorial on Fireworks under the Help menu in Fireworks.

I would suggest starting with a free blog at http://www.wordpress.com and once you get the hang of blogging, switching to a fully-hosted version on your own server / domain.

Then, I'd hire someone to do the graphics from a place like http://www.rentacoder.com because the $60 or so you'll pay for someone who knows what he is doing to do it will save you 10 times that in aggravation.
