Default Purchase the life insurance after being diagnosed with cancer

The American Cancer Society believes doctors diagnose more than 1.4 million new cases of cancer in the United States in 2007, with more than 559650 cancer deaths. If you are in the majority of patients with cancer and survive for at least five years after your diagnosis, you may face another battle: the purchase of a life insurance policy.

Buying life insurance for cancer patients is difficult, but not necessarily impossible. Your chances of getting a policy will depend largely on the type, stage and grade of cancer, and even in terms of treatment. There is a relationship between the rate you receive and the curability of your cancer. Certain types of skin cancer, for example, are considered very low risk by the life insurance companies and a skin cancer history may not even impact premiums.

Candidates with the same forms and treatable cancer of the prostate, breast and perhaps get a "standard" rating under ideal circumstances. But patients with a history of leukemia or colon cancer may fall into a "substandard" or "lower quality" rating at best, or receive cuts. Anyone with a cancer that has metastasized probably will not be able to obtain a policy.

Dr. Charles Levy, senior vice president and chief medical director of AIG American General Domestic Life Insurance Cos, says, "We are increasingly able to distinguish the different risks of cancer." As life insurers AIG American General have perfected tables to determine premiums, which they can factor types of cancer and its treatments. The end result is better because the premiums are not candidates lumped together as "average".

Most insurers will not offer a policy to someone who is still undergoing treatment for cancer. Depending on your type of cancer, the life insurance may also want to add a surcharge, also called temporary extra flat. For example, the American general AIG accusations sometimes temporary extras dish for two to five years, according to the applicant, cancer and treatment. The good news is that even though these premiums can be expensive, they disappear automatically after a given period.

Cancer specialists in the insurance risk
While a life insurance agent will search for a dedicated cancer insurance companies to find insurers who will sell you life insurance, in some cases, you may be better find a broker who specializes in Looking for life insurance for people who have a history of cancer.

These brokers know the specific issues subscribers will want answered when considering your application. Many brokers have developed relationships with several insurers, so they know which companies offer the best price life insurance policies for cancer survivors. Some brokers have experts who specialize in the collection of your medical records and organize them.

By directing your request for life insurers who observe your request more favourable, these brokers will help you find the most accurate and the price of lower prices for life insurance premiums. Always check the financial soundness of the insurer before buying any policy and make sure the agent or broker you choose is permitted in your state.

Life insurance strategies for cancer survivors
If you are a cancer survivor in good health, life insurance is even more feasible. There are things you can do to make sure you get the best premium offers options for your situation.
  1. Gather all the medical records before you ask, from the first pathology report to medical records for the treatment of cases. This ensures medical Underwriters have the most complete picture of yourself, your health or cancer. Having all the files before you apply for insurance for cancer will reduce delays in the application process, because your life insurer will ask them, and we wait. The information you provide you can get better rewards at the end: The life insurer fewer subscribers know about you, the more they are likely to have to assume you are most at risk and to offer premiums accordingly. According to Levy, "If it is unclear, we are more inclined to err on the side of caution."
  2. Make sure you have fulfilled your physician treatment plans. For example, Levy said, if your doctor had asked to see you back in a year and you have not been back in four years to go to your doctor for your check-up before asking the life insurance. Your life insurer is not going to offer you a policy without before seeing the results of the check-up. Likewise, if you have had breast cancer and are due for a mammogram in December and you apply for a cancer in October insurance, your life insurance will probably await the outcome of your next mammogram.
  3. Get quotes from several companies. Policy costs can vary greatly between companies.
  4. See if you can get group life insurance through a professional, fraternal, membership or political organization to which you belong.
  5. Consider a "graded" policy (one with limited benefits) if you can not get the full death benefits. In the early years of a grade policy, the company only pays the premiums and a portion of the face value if the insured person dies of a disease, such as cancer, which existed before the policy took effect. If the insured dies after specified in the classification period, the company must pay the full amount of the policy.
If the cancer has been treated successfully, and you are in good health, you can probably get a cancer of the life insurance policy. If you can demonstrate that you are in good health and your treatments were well, many insurers may compete for your business.
